Jam a large nail throught the bottom and let the oil drain out of the filter. Then ram a screwdriver through the case and turn that SOB.
Rub a little oil on the new gasket before you install the new one, and hand tighten. It shouldn't happen again.

LS1vazquez: No its an LS1 they don't need oil or a filter. They just run.
