And still carfax won't be 100%.... I got screwed by a dealer once by about 60,000miles and it had a clean carfax.

So is $8900 too much for a first year LS1? I'm really not ready to buy unless I came up on a great deal. I was planning on waiting till the end of the year to find a nice low mileage WS6. Should I wait?

If, in fact, the car is a real WS6 and actually has 48K miles and is not salvaged etc., I'd say the asking price is very good.

When it comes to your question whether to wait or not, you are the only one who can answer that question.

However, if you have the money and everything checks out good on the car, then why not buy? There's no time like the present time.

it may be the first year of the LS1 in the f bod... but the LS1 was in vettes in the 97 model year.... depending on when that car was built, it could be 2 full years older than the oldest LS1

Kind of interesting that the mileage was 36K still in 10/21/06, but the next time it was serviced on 11/17/07 it had jumped to 76021.

Interesting...

that is interesting.

i would call the seller and ask the question directly. ask them if they ran a carfax, then tell them what you've found.

carfax is not fool proof. all it takes is one loser emissions tester to misread the odometer, and carfax picks it up.
