I always hated the long *** doors on my F-bodys. They were also heavy as hell too! I don't think I have been in another car with doors heavier than the F-bod.

the doors are a lil long, but the only time it bugs me is in the garage(I park in the boonies too).......its a lil tight in a single garage space, i ended padding the walls near the door

I usually park where it isn't a problem, just always afraid when i pull up to get gas I'm gonna forget, swing the door open and hit one of those big cement posts.

No problems here, but I don't live in a big city.

+1, I found a gas station with a longer pump hose. I pull well past the pump, and am good to go.

First off, let me say I have no problem with my long doors, I've never even noticed getting out. I will admit I'm rather skinny and it's a rare occasion that someone is parked next to me in a lot.

But, has anyone actually thought about how funny f-bodies would look with shorter doors, they would look ridiculous! Who wants to do a photoshop

They feel pretty light to me. They're plastic, only thing giving them any weight at all is the glass. But still, I don't even consider them remotely heavy.

Ahhh, now I see the problem. I've had tons of cars with heavier doors, guess that's why F-bodies don't even phase me. Here is an example of what I consider a heavy door on one of my previous cars..... try driving this boat around for a while, then tell me that ANYTHING about an F-body is "heavy":

Sheww wee, thats a rig right there! Yeah, it could also be the length of the door which gives it a "heavy" feel. I don't know really how to word what I mean. Even in my dads avalanche or moms GTP, those doors never felt as heavy as my F-body doors to me? Thats why I always thought the f-body doors were so easily slammed, because the weight carried them. You know what I mean?

My camaro's doors aren't that much heavier than my old 93 taurus doors. Probably because these doors are fiberglass and the taurus doors were mostly metal (even though they were rusting away lol).

There have been a couple times the longer doors have gotten in the way, but it usually isn't a big deal. I only weigh like 135 or so (5'11" yes I'm a stick ) so it isn't bad in tight spots.

Yes, I know they are fiberglass. The doors in my Z06 are also fiberglass, but weigh much less. It may just be me, but they always seemed heavy to me.

Yep, that thing weighs over 5,000lbs. When I sold it last fall, my driveway actually raised up about 2".

Funny you should mention a GTP. I had an '02 Monte Carlo SS, those doors felt about the same as my Camaro doors do. I guess weight perception is just different for different people.

hehehehe . . .

I was just about to tell people to stfu and go drive my old 1983 Coupe Deville. Those doors were even longer and heavier, athough that bench seat made it easier to get into than an fbody.

I never realized how heavy the doors were until I opened a C5 door, that thing must weigh 10 lbs lol.

If you removed the extra 10" made into the car for the useless back seats, then proportion the rest of the car it would look sweet!

I live in the heart of Seattle and the long doors don't bother me too much. Even though we have traffic, parking spaces and street/lot layouts are well designed/have a lot of space.

i hear you dude, I took a girl im dating for the first time in my car and right when she opened the passenger door she flung it right into the car next to me...i looked at her and laughed because it is inevitable to stop a nub camaro/trans am passenger from doin this. It has happened to me everytime i get someone "new" in the car they have to do this

Eh, they don't really bother me. I think these cars would look funny with short doors.
