Default New Mods- Went from 215 Miles on a Tank of Gas to 270 miles!

The best gas mileage I had with just a lid and loudmouth bullet was 215miles on a tank. I just did egr/air delete, long tubes, ORY, cutout, magnaflow catback 2.5", EFI live tune and got around 270 miles on the tank. I am in an 00 WS6 M6 and shift right at or just under 2k each time. I was pretty easy on the car while seeing how much I could get. Does anyone know if I would get better milege with my cutout open or closed. My cutout is just off my ory under the rear passenger seat before my 2.5" crinkle bend catback. Is it best to run it through the catback for a little backpressure?

that's pretty good. On my relatively stock C5 last summer i went to Sturgis from my house and went 460 miles on 1 tank. And although many thought i was full of it, i had a 1 guy riding with me and 2 others in another car to varify. i was averaged 32-33 MPG the whole way at 70 mph. Mods were, B&B exhaust and K&N intake. kept it in 6th as often as i could. When i road tripped my '96 Z28 i got around 380-90 miles to one tank.~Cole~

I think most of it is probably from your tune. I believe the stock tune runs pretty rich. That's good mileage though, it'll make you feel better saying your mods are paying for themselves I only get about 220 to a tank before I fill up, avg 19-20 mpg with about 70% freeway, but I do get quite a bit of traffic.

All the mods you have right now are getting more air in/out and along with the tune they are making your motor run more efficient. Once you move on to larger mods (h/c) and the car requires more fuel to run you mileage will decrease a bit.
