98 is the only LS1 year with the 15.5 steel tank. The rest have 16.8 plastic tanks

Well your LT1 doesn't have a fuel bucket. metal tanks 98 and older don't have buckets.

never let mine get below a 1/4 tank and im runnin an aeromotive in line pump in the 01 Z

Response from Racetronic email, (sucks that they don't have phone tech support).
The jet pump system requires a pressurized system to function. It does not have infinite open ended capacity.
In other words the bucket will not fill if the system is not up to pressure.
