Top speed on a bone stock LS1???

^^^ Hey man. I am 30 miles down 70 east from ya in in boring Ktown. Small world!! I go to Camerons some an Torreros occasianally.
A girl was talking junk to me about my car last week and I told her it would do 3 X the speed limit easy. I had my Magellan in the car and on the way home we decided to see. Results:
173.6 on the GPS.
At 155 on the speedo I was actually doing almost 158 according to the GPS. Maybe cause my tire size is a fraction of an inch bigger than stock.
Stock I was able to bury it also but it gets there MUCH faster now. It is fun after you slow down but I honestly don't think I will do it again. I WISH I had a video.

You did 173 with your A4? Thats impressive!!!

Hey are you guys trying to beat the land speed record in your cars or something? What's going on here.
I did 155 and got nervous when my steering wheel started to vibrate just a bit, and the trees became a blur when passing them...

Got a friend Nate that has a 2001 Z28 with the M6 and we are coming from Kennedale around 10pm on a Sunday. he let me drive and We hit 820 and merged on to 287 and I punched it and topped the car out at 150 ish. What a beautiful feeling! The car just glided as i pegged it to the floor. My boy Nate was scared off his *** and was screaming for me to slow down but he didn't know his cars potential till he let me drive it. He's still a rookie at hard shifting and top speed but with my help he will be a worthy opponent.

When I had my 93 b4c Formula I hit 165+ according to gps on 2 separate occasions. I quite honestly scared the crap out of myself the second time, front end felt loose as could be. I can easily see an ls1 car doing the same speed with no issue though. I've only had my ls1 car up to about 150 and I'm probably not going to try for any faster. Top speed is just not as important anymore

35th z28. Only work was a lil on the heads and a cold air intake. 150 on the dash speeding ticket 175 shut the engine down at 185.
