Question's about a Rebuilt ls1???
well im looking a gettin this motor ,a local Race shop has rebuilt the motor and some guys is not willing to pay so i got it priced cheap.
Upon talking to him it was a stock rebuild with ported and polish 853 heads ,and he also said he left 1/2in clearence in the bearing's to be looser.Because the guy planed to spin the motor high.
Is this a good thing or bad or what i have never heard of leaving some clearence in the bearings .....

i believe it was 1 thousandths clearence i just entered the information wrong,But is this a common practise among ls1's. The shop is a very well known shop that builds Big hp car's i just never heard of ppl using more clearence on the crank to make the engine a little loose to free up some hp.
Hopefully someone chimes in .
