Fixed my water leak in the driver side footwell...
It was the hood release grommet!
Open the hood and you can barely see if it is in place.
If it is crooked--- fix it!
1. Position the cable so it entered the grommet straight. (IT ENTERS AT AN ANGLE AND PULLS THE GROMMET OUT!!!)
2. I had to drill 2 holes in the plastic where the cable lies by the release handle and run a zip tie through the holes and tighten it around the cable keeping it straight.
3. Push the grommet into place and slather some black silicone on the engine side...

i had the same problem after installing my guage pod!! didnt realize it was leaking untill i got splashed with water while hitting the brakes after it rained!! i thought after i used silicone on it it stopped but it didnt, i did find out the on my cable it didnt just push in it actually twisted in pull yours out and check it it probably does the same thing i had to use a long pair of needle nose pliers to get up to it cause my hands are to big to get up into that place after i figured that out [no more puddles]!!!!
