Default Rubber Transmission Hose?

replaced some worn trans and tq arm mounts a few days ago, and without noticing at the time, a rubber hose line was attached to the tq arm that came out with the arm.

Now I dont know what that hose is or where it goes, anyone know what I am talking about?

I can get pictures if necessary...

I was thinking a trans overflow but that doesnt make much sense for it to be rubber?

it is a vent tube that hooks to the top of the trans. if you run your hand across the top of it you will feel a metal tube that is maybe 2-3" long, that tube connects to it. Its on the flat part of the top, in between the bell housing and the tail.
*****EDIT******

If you look where the yellow strap is, at the top right of that strap you will see the tube, this is on a LT1 4L60E but its pretty much the same. Look in that general area.

thanks for the info

also, forgot to mention, this one has a plastic valve-type split in it?

the trans is working good w/o the tube, i'm assuming its only for if you overfill the transmission?
