New Engine?
Right now I drive a partially modded 2000 V6 Camaro, but would like to add some serious power. I am planning on purchasing a new engine but I am not sure what else I'll need to buy when dropping in a new engine. I plan on getting some type of V8 engine, probably a stock from a LS7 corvette or a SS camaro.

A transmission and rear-end that will be able to handle the power. 4L60E, T5, and the 10-bolt are not good enough unless you're going to baby it (in which case why would you be buying it?). You'll need a new computer and wiring harness as well.
Not sure what else.

Well, putting an LS7 will require a large amount of modification in order to work because of its oil system (dry sump). You're better sticking with an LS1 or LS2 and going from there. However, if I were you, I would just sell your V6 and get an LS1 powered fbody. It will be a lot cheaper in the long run and you won't have to worry about all the parts and stuff. My insurance went up $12/month when I went from my 2000 Camaro V6 to my 2001 Camaro SS.

Well, depends on how much power he's looking for. I'd much rather start with a bigger engine if I were looking for much more power than an LS1. And he'd need to replace the 10-bolt even if he modded an LS1 Camaro. T56 would be fine if he got one of those, though. Computer/wiring stuff would probably be much easier that way.
I dunno, though; depends on what kind of power he's looking for.

if money's no object then gmperformanceparts.com is where you need to be also depends whether you want a maual or an auto but one universal is that a 10 bolt wont cut it id recommend getting a bolt in 9 inch but if LS1 style power is what you want trade in for an LS1

first, how much are you willing to spend? there are semi-affordable 402/408 crate engines that can almost triple the hp you V6 currently has. thats probably the best way to add serious power like you said you wanted. but that also will eventually drivetrain modifications.
