Quick Corvette ? I`m looking at a 99 Vette and was wondering if the 99 and on up Vettes (C5`s) had a different intake as opposed to the 97 and 98 ones like the 98 and 99 TA`s and Camaros had a different intake than the 00`s to 02`s. Also wondering if you could put the brake ducts i think there called that they have on the ZO6`s onto a regular non ZO6 Vette and how hard it would be, reason i ask about the brake duct thing is because that is one key style feature i love about the ZO6`s.
The intake on the 97-00 vettes are all the same, they just dont have the egr provisions like the f-body's do. Yes you can put the brake ducts on a regular c5 but you either have to buy the fake stick-on ones or you have to cut your car to install the functional Z06 ones.
alot of people just add the brake ducts but i agree the only way i'd do it is if they were functional. 01+ had the LS6 intake manifold. i've thrown the idea around of adding them to mine but idk yet

Also would anybody here reccomend not getting a 97-99 Vette and just stick with the newer C5`s because of any problems they may of had in the early stages. If so could someone give me an idea of what to look out for in buying a Vette.

ALL C5 corvette have issues that just fact common problems fuel gauge will stop working, blinkers will stop working, dual climate control LED light will go out there are alot more but you can run a search on here and there is a big post about all the issues with the C5... When I bought mine I didn't wait to get the right car which was a mistake I bought a very clean 2001 coupe A4 but I wanted a M6 Z06 and i've been kicking myself ever since so make sure its the car you really want and in a price range that you like good luck!
