I thought really hard about it, but I was young/stupid and ended up drinking/driving & nearly wrecked the car I drove that night. In the end, I guess it was for the best.

Don't remind me about the prom date That was one crazy female!! I'm glad to know she lives in another state now...

oh **** hell yea. looks like you did make the right choice. becasue if you almost wrecked what you WERE driving, you surely would have wrecked your baby. its hard not to show off soemthing so awesome. especially if its new and your drunk/barred out/f-ed up in any way. (been there done that, almost hit a pole in a parking lot, lol) and all females are crazy. its just how far they go to either hide it or prove it.

Growing up, a family friend had a black 2nd gen Z28 I always admired. I finally bought my Z the fall of 2000 as a belated college graduation present to myself.

My dad had a 67 Mustang and told me many times he wished he had kept it. That kinda stuck with me, so I don't see myself selling my z anytime soon.

Got my CETA on January 5th, 2002. 13 miles on odometer

Will NEVER let that car leave my ownership. I love it too damn much.

It's a part of me.

This is my 4th F-body and the only one I purchased new.
Previous cars include `78 Z28 `79 Trans Am `94 Formula
Ordered mine on Jan. 19th 1998 Took delivery on Mar. 27th 1998.
Car had 9 miles on it at delivery, Currently has 123K Daily Driven Weekend Street Racer miles on it all on the Original clutch. I still have all the Original paperwork including the Plant Manifest (build sheet) and Window Sticker.
As most of you have already said these are cars are fun to drive. Yes it has shortcomings but what car doesn't. Tell me what car you can buy now that will run consistent mid 13's @ 105+ mph and get 30+ mpg highway all for under $25K.

Bought mine new, and it is getting more and more modded by the day. I don't plan on getting rid of this car for a LONG, LONG time.

well I bought mine 2001 ws6 from a coworker who bought it used with just over 5k miles on it. I bugged him for about 3 years to sell it to me, he was younger then me (20's) I had just turned 40. "no age crises here" just wanted one for along time, since I was 15 yrs old. now I could afford one (cash) and insurance and start modding it. I bought it from him with 50k miles on it and started modding it the same summer. now I'm at 83+k on it still runs puuuuuuurrrfect.

QUOTE=RPM WS6;9451211]I was lucky. I was able to buy two LS1 F-bodies new. In July of 1999, I bought a brand new Z28, and in July of 2000 I bought a brand new WS6 Trans Am. I sold that Z in March of 2000, and I sold the WS6 in September of 2004.

I'm the second owner of both my current '98 and '02 Z28s.

These cars are getting old, much like their original owners ( ). I've been commited to F-bodies since buying my first one in 1997, and I'll probably always have at least one in my collection. For many buyers of today, these cars are just cheap speed. Not to me though. I even like the things that most people bitch about with F-bodies- the stuff that makes them a 'modern muscle car', and keeps them tied to their roots. Long hood, long doors, short trunk, basic/non-luxury interior, OHV V8 engine, solid axle, aggressive styling, great power-to-dollar ratio, basic options only. It's a manly car, plain and simple. Driving an LS1 F-body is as close as you can get in any modern car to driving a classic muscle car... it's all about heritage & style for me.[/QUOTE]

'nuff said...yeah, i'm an old fart and these lil' beast are much more economical and dependable than the big blocks we grew up with!!!!

2nd owner on 01, still smells new... 4th on the 98

Back in July of 02, my then wife (future ex-wife) wanted me to buy her a convertable mustange. I had a 1976 Trans Am that I had a well built 455 Pontiac in (I loved that car but that B*&tch made me sell it). SO I looked all over South Louisiana for her dream car (the Mouse Stain). I went to the Ford house in Baton Rouge and across the street I saw a Black WS6 on the Pontiac lot. I took my wife over there and made her go for a test ride. She had already driven about 6 convertable GT mustangs when she got behind the wheel of the WS6. After she drove it, she was shaking when she got out of the car and said "No way! That car scares me! " so I bought it! Brand new! Never let her drive it. I bought her a Suburban instead. All threw my devorce she tried to get it from me just to be evil. Needless to say, I got the car, the kids, the house, my retirment, everything (she went nuts). I just recieved the title for it last week. Now my two boys (12 & 11 years old) fight over which ones going to get it. I have not told them but they will not find out until after I am dead. I will never get rid of my WS6, my Victory Vegas Jackpot, and I will have a new Vette, as well as another 70 Challenger before I die, and a new Bigdog. All of which will be heavily fought over after my death. I pray every day my WS6 will be one of the last in the world when it turns 100 years old. And I cring at the idea of the birds coming back. I like the idea of the last of the breed. But I am sure if GM thinks they can make a buck, they will bring it back. (AND I WOULD BE THE FIRST IN LINE TO GET ONE!)

By the way, my new wife is convinced she ranks second to the "Black Bitch" as she calls it.

Love mine even with 80,000 miles on it.

well im only 20 so i guess you know i couldnt have bought mine new but, it was my dream car since they came out..the camaro was the only car i ever wanted, and i even like them over the corvettes for some strange reason call me stupid if ya want. whenever i got a decent job i bought one at the age of almost 18 going on 19 and still have the thing..i will never sell it either, it has been the greatest thing that has ever happend to me and has even ruined many relationship but its my baby so no woman will ever come in between it.i bought it with 32xxx on it and now has 63xxx on it..i did that in a year too which really sucks, but i cant stand not to drive the thing

I bought my car new back in 2000. I had always wanted a brand new Firebird and had been saving for several years waiting for the right time. I had been reading good things about the LS1 engine, and decided to pull the trigger and get one in the spring. I had to order it and wait about 3 months to get the exact car I wanted.

I had my heart set on a WS6 Formula, but they were next to impossible to find on a dealer's lot back then. I must have visited 10 dealerships looking for one - lots of Trans Ams, but no Formulas with the WS6 package. Every time I talked to salesmen, they always tried to talk me into buying a TA off the lot and seemed reluctant to order a car. I finally found a cool salesman who was willing to work with me and put in my order.

I'll never forget the day I picked up the car - It was raining, but that didn't curb my enthusiasm. I had a huge smile on my face when I pulled into the dealer lot and saw my brand new car sitting there. On the way home, I romped on it a little and the car got out of shape... at that moment, I knew I had made the right choice!

I have thought of selling it a couple of times, but I still have it.
