LS1 F-body > LS2 GTO. The extra 50 horsepower usually can't make up for the extra weight. Add to that the fact that they are less aerodynamic (making them suffer from a roll) and much harder to launch thanks to IRS (making them suffer from a dig), the same driver should have the advantage with the F-body. Just about every story of stock F-body vs. stock GTO has the F-body coming out on top. Reason is, the cars are about perfectly equal, but the F-body is much easier to drive.

foreverzero, there is no LS1 F-body that has ever come with 325bhp. They all have 340-350+bhp from the factory. The '01-'02 models have a few more ponies thanks to the LS6 intake and the redesigned exhaust manifolds. These cars were disgustingly underrated by GM to add to the lovely "Corvette tax."

I gave a look towards him, and i see him give me the "NO" nod, by in a cocky way....I was like wtf??? ya know, but as he got ahead more, i then noticed the 6.0L badge at the back. Then i was like...ohh okk. Now i see why your being cocky, you got tha 6.0L LS2 GTO. (never saw the hood till i passed him later on in traffic)

My question is, just how good are these car's??? There's very few of these GTO's driving around here, well atleast i see very little of them.
Go to youtube and search "you got walked" and u will se my goat when it had a cai and kooks w/o cats vs some fast cars. And by the way my friend zenek (trans am m6 224r and ported heads)made the video and did the music.

IMO the GTO needs to go see Jenny Craig to loose some poundage.

I wouldn't buy a GTO if you want to be a drag queen. I have mine because it's a nice car with a nice engine. If I wanted to rule the drag strip and street races I would have bought an F-Body or an Evo

the overweight jab is a bad one at that, you dont see gto owners bragging about being more aerodynamic, but its true and we also have a better transmission... and the ls2s have more power.

here are some times from ls1gto.com, they will give you a general idea of how good they are.

that post is dead on for the stock GTOs i've seen. I would wager that most LS2 GTOs run the lower half of 13s (or should i say the lower third), maybe a few in the 12s as seen in the previous post. Thats about the same as f-bodies, 01-02s especially, if anything the average is only a tenth or two higher. I have seen several bone stock 02 camaros, A4s, run as low as 12.8s. This is something i wouldnt forget, especially when my loud *** stalled car is running at the top of the 12s also.

I am so glad I am not stock LOL I don't bother to go the track very often because I am too cheap to make my car hook in the first 3 gears. I like going from HWY rolls 70-150. Many exotic deaths and their faces are priceless. Ferrari F-430; 2008 Z06; Viper; 911.

I own both cars, the f body is a better track car due to the weight, being able to put a bigger tire on it and the solid rear setup. As far as highway racing, the LS2 GTO will pull a LS1 Fbody everytime assuming equal mods, same tranny and equal driver ability.

Looks are subjective, I personally feel a LS2 GTO is a better looking car than a LS1 Z28...but not a Trans Am.

Surprisingly good interior and one of the best stock exhaust notes I've heard! Definitely a bit chunky, more of a GT car than anything else - very comfy!
