Small bulbs in corner light?

Small bulbs in corner light? I have one simple question. I tried a search and couldn't find anything. What are the small bulbs in the corner lights for? Mine never light up no matter what. I know it's a stupid question, but I'm just curious, thanks in advance.

It's a side marker light. They should be lit whenever the headlights or parking lights are on.
Either yours are burned out, or you have a wiring/socket issue. The number for a replacement bulb is 194.
