Default turbo ?

would a sts kit on an ls1 with 132,000 miles be a wise option. Car runs strong with out a hitch. No blow by, no ticks, no grinding. Just runs good.

many have ran a turbo kit on a stock motor before and haven't had problems. but those who get the motor to last gives much respect to the turbo limiting what they can do with it. this means, don't run over 8 PSI, install hardened pushrods, & you MUST KNOW your motor won't last too long when you start using power adders. Sure, 3 or 5 PSI is probably ok. But my personal opinion at 5 PSI you'll likely see less than 430rwhp and on a stock motor with a turbo it's not worth it. it's much cheaper to go Heads/Cam/Intake to achieve the same amount of power, especially on a higher mileage motor. If you're going to go turbo, getting the engine rebuilt with forged internals or buying a forged shortblock is a BIG key.

i see no problems with a 5psi forced induction system on a stock engine... spinning it to 7k is a lot harder on it than a turbo would be.
