You probibly would regret selling your Z28 for awhile. You could always get a sportier truck such as the Trailblazer SS. That thing hauls ***. I herd it was pretty good for towing too.

I had a friend who gave his older bro, his 01 Z28 because he needed a truck for work. Used to here him say, he missed the car alot but finally got used to it i guess. He now has a Dodge RAM. His brother then traded the car in for a truck too.
You'll probably regret it for awhile, but then get used to your truck & maybe start modding that bitch lol

I sold my 99 M6 TA in May and bought a 03 Silverado RCSB and while I do miss the TA quite a lot , I also love the truck and don't mind driving it at all. When you own a house, there are so many occasions when a truck comes in handy. And, hey, at least it's got a V8!
My prerequisites for the truck was that it needs to be a GM RCSB and have a V8 and that's exactly what I got. I was initially looking for an 01-02 trucks, but then the deal for the 03 came along and I just had to get it. So far I have not done any performance or appearance mods, but I'm sure those will come eventually. It already had a billet grille, aftermarket exhaust and Alpine stereo system when I bought it.
This is the first time since December 1999 that I don't have F-body, but I will get one in about two years or so.

If it's possible, you could get both. I picked up my 2000 Silverado ECSB for $6000. One owner truck with 136,000 miles on it. Pulls the car, 4 wheeler, and whatever else. I know everone's situation is different, but I have a total of $12,500 between my car and truck. That's not bad for two vehicles. That price isn't counting mod money on the car just purchase price for both at different times.

You will miss the looks that your car gets and the speed, but a lifted truck with some big tires and dual exhaust is fun as hell and fits your needs more than a camaro. I sold my 98 z28 that i put a lot of money and time into and I did miss it for a little while but driving a truck is a blast! No longer have to watch out for potholes, speed bumps, etc. You can drive over curbs, tow a boat, haul anything you need in the bed, etc. I didnt get a truck but rather an 03 expedition and I stuffed 33 inch tires on a 15 inch rim on it with custom flowmaster duals and it was a ton of fun to drive and provided needed space and utility as well. As others have said you will miss the camaro but a truck is fun too.

I was looking for a truck when I ran across my Z28. Either way, it was going to get modified, but I'm happy. After it's paid off I'll be looking for another truck.
If you really got to have one, why not do what Davis said and get something you can play in? A 6.0 or Duramax

RCSB is where it's at!
Not sure how wise it is to lower the truck if you are going to pull a boat, though. I guess it depends on the size of the boat.
IIRC, there is only 10hp difference between the 4.8 and 5.3 from the factory. But if you plan on modding it, I guess it's better to start with the 5.3. Just read up on performancetrucks.net, fullsizechevy.com etc. to learn more about the possibilities. There are guys running pretty fast with these things.
The little 4.8 in my truck has enough oomph as it sits. No need for me to try to make it racer.
