Default Computer Hookup

I have been trying to hookup my scanner to see what fault code the service engine light came on for and when I hookup to the car the computer shows no connection. I test the scanner with my other cars and no problem at all. Is there a fuse that could be bad? I have no idea and any help at all would be great...The car is a 2002 ss M6
Thanks
Jay

The adapter might not be compatible with your hookup...

There is a fuse for it but i dont know where it is. Pin 16 should have battery voltage, and pin 4 should be chassis ground. Check both of those to begin with.
