I have owned an '04 Cobra and I have been around alot of modified Cobra's. There really is no comparison here. These are two completely different cars!!! A modified Cobra feels like a super fast Brick! The C6Z is a true rocket, straight or turning. It is so smooth and so easy to drive!! The power is awesome! I smile everytime I get in my Z.
There is no disrespect here to the Cobra, I still love those cars, but the C6Z is AWESOME!!!!
Even if money would be tight, I would take a C6Z and have to eat Ramen Noodles over a KB Cobra and get to eat Filet Mignon.

I say if your friend is only paying about $400 a month already, hell yea throw a New Whipple 2.3/3.4 with the new inlet and monoblade TB and shoot for 700+rwhp and still only have about a $400 a month payment. The Cobra is going to be MUCH cheaper to fix/maintain than the Z06.
Is the Z06 a better car? Yes in every way but he will need to spend the EXTRA $400 a month ($800+ payment) just to drive it.
If he can comfortably swing it, go for it. God help him when he runs across an 03 Whippled 3.4 and it hands him his azz bigtime though cause thats gonna hurt. You expect the C6Z to handle the Cobra, not the other way around. Good luck.

I've got a Cobra, but I've spent a decent amount of time behind the wheel of a C6 Z06 and there is no comparison.
BTW, it's not just because this is a GM site... go ask the same question on SVTperformance.com and you'll for the most part get the same answer.

If he owns the Cobra and doesn't have to make payments on it, then the KB is the way to go. The C6 Z is a way better car though. If he is just a rich **** then C6 Z all the way!

Thats what he's afraid of, he doesn't wanna spend all that $$$$$ just to be beat by a whipple or KB cobra. If he goes with a C6 Zo6 it's gonna be full-bolts and cam, but it still might be close too close to call.....I duno

You can make 600 NA whp with a C6Z. Thus would walk a 700+ whp Cobra. Your also looking at spending 50-60k which isn't chump change. Why are you even asking? If you CAN afford the Z then go for it.
I seriously don't see what so good about the Cobra's. Every time I see them run against a LSx car they lose. IMO the Cobras are just too heavy and need all that extra power just move.
