what the hell does it matter if your tranny explodes from being hit while in first.
A force that strong is going to total an F-body FYI.
always use both, one needs to back the other up, in case of failure.

E-brake and neutral most of the time.
My reasoning for leaving it in neutral is that I have a brand new shifter and the springs in the shifter help pull it into neutral and also help with the 2-3 shift when racing(atleast I feel that way), so i figured why wear it out if the e brake will do the job?

Just the e-brake for parking. Just in gear for storage.
Never in gear for parking because I have and continue to share cars with other family members. They have different habits with starting and parking. So not in gear is safest default.

the 99 Z28 manual I just found in my spare tire compartment recommends putting it in Reverse and setting the e-brake.
