Default To do or not to do, that is the question.....

Im very seriously thinking about selling my HO z28 and buying a 03 cobra. Within a year ill have no tickets on my record and will be able to afford the insurance and payments for one. Im tempted to just keep my car though and make it perfect, but ive always had wet dreams for an 03/04 cobra. Im thinkin about selling the Z and taking that money for a down payment. I'll just do wheels, springs, shocks, and full bolt ons with the SVT, to put it around 470rwhp.

Should i do it, or keep the camaro and start modding...

Its not really that i want a faster car, its just i wanna get something newer thats not gonna sound like its falling apart when i go over bumps lol

I also miss driving a manual

keep your z28 and mod it. you can put 5 grand into your car and go just as fast as the 03 cobra w/ 470 rwhp. or take the 5 grand and put some new shocks on your car so it doesnt feel like its going to fall apart going over bumps. keep it!

Oh ****, I got a headache. I don't even know where to start.

You do realize that thing you're looking at is manufactured by f-o-r-d right? Seriously, it just sounds like you just got some rattling going on in the suspension if it sounds like it's coming apart. That's no big deal, how many miles does it have on it?

Another thing...everybody and their brother and cousin-in-laws twice removed, x-gf's, uncles, grandpa has a damn Mustang. They might not have a Cobra, but they have a Mustang, and the Cobra is indeed...a Mustang. The only reason I would buy a f-o-r-d...would be to talk to Sean Hyland and make 1500+HP out of one of those DOHC 4.6's.

Another option would be to sell or trade it off and buy another F-Body. Possibly a M6 T/A since you said you missed driving standard. Maybe a M6 SS. Maybe a M6 Vette.

But I mean...it's your car and your decision, you do whatever you want.

Though it is true everyone has a Mustang, Cobra's are an entirely different beast. I sold my 5.0 mustang to buy the TA, because it felt old, and though it could stomp lightly modded LS1's, it really wasn't worth it. Find yourself a low miles 04, check for the valve knock BTW, and get it. Cobra's aren't that bad on the insurance anyhow, atleast not my plan

The car has 100,000 miles on it. 12,000 which are on the motor. it came with a 02 ls1 from the factory still under warrenty for another 2 years. it also has a built 4l60e, pretty much a mock up of the FLT5, with a TCI 3500 stall. Other mods are lts,o/r y pipe, cutout, slp lid, and a few other little stupid things like plug wires, and a thermostat. I just really need shocks its running on h&r springs with STOCK shocks. The ride sucks like i said. Panhard bar and LCA's by UMI. But like i said, a part of me just wants something different and ive always loved 03/04 cobras.

How much do you think i could get outta my car if i sold it???
Heres a few pics

All depends on what you want to do with the car. What are you going to do with either?

i would pay about 13K, it's a nice car in my opinion. also, did you need a BFH to fit those ZR1's or are they not 17X11 in the rear?

Not enough for a Cobra swap, so keep it. Don't loose money getting a different car. Cobra's are by all means cool as hell, but I wouldn't want to get rid of my Z28 for one. Wouldn't mind owning one, though.

I don't think you will be able to get 13k for your car....don't get me wrong it looks really nice, but with 100k (and 12k on a new motor) I think you are only going to get 9k. 03/04 Cobras kick ***.....good luck.

My buddy had a T/A that had a 100 shot and he beat me in a race, in the time it took him to sell the T/A and find a cobra i got cammed and stalled, he brought his pullied, exhaust cobra out and got killed in a race. I upgrade 3k he upgraded 10k and got smoked. Now he's looking at a few thousand to beat me. I would say he should have kept the T/A like we told him.

A4 to M6 conversion or get a stall if not already got one. Cobras are nice but your car in particular is gorgeous. save what you can and mod it more!
