Well to start off i have a plain jane looking 2000 LPM Z28 M6. And i love the look of the SS hood, or Sunoco hood and the SS spoiler and some C5 rims. I thought about adding them to the car at some point. However, i also like the fact that the only way you can tell my car is a V8 is by the huge Magnaflow tips, but i have also seen these on V6's. What does everyone think about adding appearance mods. Is it worth it? Does it attract more idiots and cops?
Here's a pic of the car for reference.

Cops can't/won't pull you over for Z28 emblems.
I'd say do what you want unless you're building a drug runner.
My Z28 is de-badged by the previous owner. It looked just like that without the SS spoiler and used to run 9's.

To make my Z28 stand out among others, I put on Z06 style Z28 badges. Also while my tips are "stock" square tips, they are stainless steel and polished. Goes along with my whole longtube, true duals stainless steel theme...
I like the whole "it's stock" appearance. Heck unless you knew what to look for, you'd think it's stock. Only the ceramic coated headers, msd wires and lid say modded. My EGR and AIR system is intact and non functional. The wheels give it away as something's modded. 17x11 rear 17x9.5 front ZR1 rims with 315 monsters on the back. Be proud it's a Z28. The SS hood looks badass, but little things like clear corners for the lights, berger panel and or/letter inserts, whistler mod are all nice little touches to make your car, your own.

I was/still am in the same boat as you. So I said told myself this.
1) ditch teh snowflakes. I got some zo6 motorsports to replace those.
2) Gotta get some tint (working on that)
3) Inserts for the back.
4) Paint calibers.
5) Clear corners.
6) Whistler mod.
7) debadge/different badges
8) I have always liked the look of a z28 with a VFN Cowl hood matched with an ss spoiler. I just think it looks bad ***.

I just like the fact that my car doesnt look that fast. It looks like any old v6 Camaro. But then i look at an SS and im blown away how much better it looks than my car. They just look tough. I also dont live in the "best" area so im kinda really debating buying wheels, only to have some gang banger steal them. I'm really in debate. I think my car is going to get the performance stuff first. I have a set of Pacesetters at my apartment waiting for install. Next will probably be some sort of intake/ported throttle body. Then LS7 Clutch/flywheel.

22" wheels
airbags
flame tint job
3" cowl hood (works best on stock cars)
super wing
jk everyone else already mentioned all the good mods so I thought I would make a list of the ones not to do lol

i've got a pewter SS and i can tell you for sure that you'll like it a lot better with some black accents than you will with the sleeper look. this is what i did and i dont regret any of it.
semi-gloss berger panel with chrome inserts
whister mod
black turn signals and rear bumper lights
tinted windows
painted calipers black
billet grille
shortened antenna
next will be some wheels, lt1 tail lights and i'd like to get some 98-99 black mirrors and that'll be it.
if i had a z28 i'd probably do an SS spoiler and a sunco hood. i'm just not a fan of SS hoods on z28s but either way will look good. and if your not running true duals that will hang low, i'd lower it with the wheels.

If it was my car, I would be doing a black berger panel, some chrome inserts on it, lowered, tint, and black ZR1 wheels. Also halo headlights and clear corners would look pretty nice with that. I think it would look pretty badass like that!

I like my car to look good, Ive got some zr1's and some letter inserts in the back, pulled the front grille cuz it looks like crap! I am working on bolt ons now to free up some power, but after that its, black headlights/corners, slp bowtie grille, tint, ss spoiler, berger, and either the sunoco hood or ultra Z havent decided yet....
if you want to stay stock looking but look a little nicer, I say get the stock chrome 5 stars to replace the snow flakes, some clear corners, tint, and some camaro fill in letters in the back and front grille. wont break the bank, doesnt scream modified, but helps out the look.

I ripped my badges off because the driver side said L28 with a broken Z. The first thing I did when I got it home was hack the muffler off, so it did look like a six. Can't tell you how many times I've been asked if it was. I stuck some Z06's on it and it really made a difference. I ripped the grill out because it had holes in it, but it still looks crummy.
