The thing circled here in the yellow:



Its that two part black rubber sheet opposite side of the a/c condenser. Is there any harm or benefit in taking out the top piece?

does it direct airflow to the radiator and air filter? anyone?

I think it's just there to try to direct some air into the small air filter opening

so its really not critical? i was messing with the top piece before, trying to see if i could route it better to get more air flow from it but right now im using duct tape because i can put it in the shape i need it to go. im just wondering if im over analyzing all of this and i can just take out the top piece and be about my merry way.
