Default How Much Extra???

How much extra cash do you think it would take to trade my trans am for a c5? Here are more specs on the car

1999 Pontiac Trans Am
151000 miles
Salvage Title

Mods
LS6 Intake
Circle D Stall Converter
Pacesetter 1 3/4 Longtubes
Magnaflow Y pipe
3 inch to the Axel w/ Magnaflow bullet and cuttout back to factory muffler
Moser Axels
SLP Lid
P/P Mass Air
TB Bypass
new trans filter
MSD Wires
TR55 Iridium Plugs
Energy Suspenion Rear Swaybar bushings
K&N Air Filter
EGR/Air Delete

The Car ran 12.6 before the ls6 intake and still has a lot left in it. It is still on a factory tune. It went 11.90 on a 100 shot and only sprayed in 2nd gear. All of this and it still gets 20 mpg on the highway.

might as well try and sell it.. no dealer is going to take a salvaged title car. Just my.02

I agree. Even if it was a clean title, you'd propbably only get 2k for it with those miles if you were lucky. The mods are nice, but dealers don't care about mods.

Sell it to someone here for 3 or 4 grand and then put the cash toward the C5.

Yeah since its a salvage, you wont expect much out of it from a dealer. Along with the miles, it brings down the value. Also with all the mods you put on it are nice, and all. But when it comes to dealerships, and markets. Mods are nothing less than what a stock car would be. Good luck!

I would just part it out. I know easier said than done, but you'd prob get more money that way. Were aftermarket parts used to restore the car after the crash (bumper, core support etc)??

i was not goin to trade it in. i was thinkin like if i sold it, how much more would i have to come up with? GM parts were used to fix it when it was hit.

with those mods it will take that special someone that wants it to buy it. When a modded goes for sell the next buyer knows the cars was run hard and raced so they take into consideration what will fail next due to the punishment.

most dealers give less on cars with mods. they know they are hard to get rid of.

Like stated you will need 10-15k for the c5

I'd say 13k for 98c5. I had a 94 c4 that I bought in 96 for 25k with 9000mi, 19k drop in two years. I wish the C5's depreciated like the c4's did, I'd have one right now. The C5's REALLY hold their value.
