the double posting bit "Doubledipping" 
my mistake..
another fourm i couldnt use my normal login so used that second one.. for the reason i logged on here with ... i have no idea. if the Moderators could get rid of the doubledip05 thats fine.. i dont want to use that one...
as for the question - in Australia we use alot of serial data between the ECU and insturments but in the US you guys still use a lot of direct feeds 1 to 1 for signals i.e. Tacho , Speedo and so forth.. i wanted to know if the corvette (or something similar iwth an E38 ECU) used a shift light and then find what pin controls it...

thanks for the reply - but as cant do that.. there is no tacho wire.. all the data is travelling alont the serial data on a E38 ECU in a late model holden in australia.... the pin is free but it is useless to use as the ECU is setup to use serial not crank...
