Default Odd rattle

theres a weird noise from time to time when the cars in gear and im on the break i hear a sort of rattle but ive been under there a thousand times and cannot find anywhere the exhaust is hitting...i;ve loosened everything and moved it around to make sure theres clearance but i still get that damn noise every now and then...it even does it sometimes while im going but far less often than when im stopped on the break...any suggestions?

Might be your 02 shields.. tap around the 02's with a rubber mallet. There is a little metal piece that shields them on the inside of the pipe. If its rattling you can try to right stuff them in. I had a rattle when declerating or when letting the revs fall to idle at around 2K RPM.

Finally found out the problem. It was my cat. I took it to the dealer and had it replaced under warrenty. No more noise!

let me guess passenger side cat? mine went bad too, already replaced that...i think the noise i had was the passenger side hanger...it has a foam/rubber part but the metal holding it to the car and the hanger were hitting from time to time....just pushed it out a little and no more worries...yet

Yup Passenger side Cat! Did you get it replaced for free? How many miles on your car? I have almost 60,000.
