Default Service engine light not working.

When I turn the key to the "ON" position the service engine light does not come on like it should. I took the guage cluster out hoping it was a bulb but it does not appear to have one for the SES light. Anyone else have this problem? What could cause it? Car is a 98 btw. Thanks.

If you don't get an answer by this afternoon I'll thumb through my '01 helms and see what it says about the MIL not illuminating.

I took the cluster out and looked at the back of it and there is no bulb anywhere near the SES light.

Is there a socket for it? I am sure there is.

Someone just took it out.
