I read the owner's manual and was surprised
at how low the recommended miles was. But
I only remember the surprise, not the number
exactly. At the time I was letting the dealership
do interval meintenance and they did not do
it on schedule, I made them and then saw the
shaving pile.

I took this as a divine sign that I should do
gears and T2-R.

I note use the red HIGH TEMP gasket sealer not the black.

I went with RTV black because it has the highest oil resistance and is good up to 500 degrees F. RTV red is also good but is mainly high temp which is good to 650 degress F. I would suggest black because of the amount and viscosity oil in the rear differential. I wouldn't expect the oil to get anywhere close to 500 degrees in the rear differential. I would use RTV red on higher heat areas like the engine compartment (engine, headers, etc).

The OWNERS MANUAL RECOMMENDS every 30K.

i honestly wouldnt take the time to give a damn about the 10 bolt esp. with the carrier II you have a rear end thats known to get rashed easily with mods just isnt worth the up keep IMO ............ but its your car and with 34k and still being for the most part stock go right ahead and do it if thats what floats your boat....if it was me id upgrade to a carrier III since your gonna be right there but im me and your you if its reccomended for you to do it every 30k and u wanna be a stickler go ahead
