Time for a Diff Service?
at how low the recommended miles was. But
I only remember the surprise, not the number
exactly. At the time I was letting the dealership
do interval meintenance and they did not do
it on schedule, I made them and then saw the
shaving pile.
I took this as a divine sign that I should do
gears and T2-R.
I went with RTV black because it has the highest oil resistance and is good up to 500 degrees F. RTV red is also good but is mainly high temp which is good to 650 degress F. I would suggest black because of the amount and viscosity oil in the rear differential. I wouldn't expect the oil to get anywhere close to 500 degrees in the rear differential. I would use RTV red on higher heat areas like the engine compartment (engine, headers, etc).
