Default Car idles around 2000 rpms when rolling.

This problem has been happening for awhile and I have tried a few things to fix it but it wont go away. I did have a vacuum leak, but I fixed it and at the same time I cleaned my iac because it had carbon built up on it pretty bad. The car idled fine untill the next time I went to start the car and the ses light was back and the car started idleing high again. Could my iac be causing this? I hate to spend 90 dollars on a new iac and that not be the problem.

I forgot to mention it does this once the car warms up.

I bought a new IAC because I thought that was my problem. I tried it and it wasn't. I returned it for a refund. Just tell them you never installed it and you ordered the wrong part. I did that with a MAF as well when my engine was still stock.

But yes, a bad IAC can cause idle problems. If its letting too much air by the idle will be high.

Spray the hell out of you IAC, MAF and air sensor (its the sensor in the lid) with MAF cleaner, see if that helps out. Something is telling your IAC to let too much air in.

P0507 is the code the car is throwing. The car was an A4 car but I swapped it to an M6. I bought a pcm from an original 98 M6 fbody, sent it off to have it checked out as well as have it tuned for my mods. I did swap my intake so I will check the bolts on it, I also bought some maf cleaner see if any of that will help.

Just to follow up. My intake bolts were a little loose, I guess I didnt tighten them enough when I did the swap. Just goes to show, double checking your work is not a bad idea.

Never mind its still idleing high. I guess I'm going to clean the maf. This is starting to frustrate me.

The problem is a vacuum leak. You're cars runs fine until it goes into closed loop. Check the pcv CLOSELY. The rubber likes to rot out and leak. I would completely pull the pcv out and check the rubber meticulously.

might be way off the wall here, but when mine had a high idle, i tried resetting ecu, checking for leaks, cleaning iac, cleaning maf, etc etc. NOTHING worked, until i replaced the fuel filter and the problem never appeared again.

it sounds like you need to change the
desired airflow table {B4307}, it is dependent on ECT.

It is a tuning issue your tuning will have to fix. Sounds like the OP doesn't do this himself.

Yeah I dont do the tuning myself, and I live about 6-8 hours from anyone who does so I just have a mail order tune for now. I did plan on saving for a cam kit and taking my car in for a tune in person at TSP, but if its a tuning issue I would rather not wait.

I checked it all and everything is good. I'm begining to be sure this is a problem with my tune.

First thing I suspect is your TB since it's ported. Probably has a big hole drilled in the center from another core or it's ported too much. Put the stock one back on or borrow a stock one from somebody to diagnose.
