Re: driver window motor went out .HELP...... i bought a motor from autozone, lifetime warranty, i tried takin my door apart to get to my speaker, had trbl gettin everything back lookin right and fittin flush, so i would pay a shop to do it, not to much money for the motor, like 40 i think..good luck

Re: driver window motor went out .HELP...... Put the window half way up if it isnt totaly stuck. Remove the switch panel(the one with the window and locks) it just pops off. Remove the cover thats behind the door handle just one screw and the light this part just pops off. Remove the screws holding the door panel on the 5 or 6 of them not sure. Unplug the speakers and set the door panel some were out of the way. There will be a plastic cover with this rubber **** holding it on peal it off slowly, if you dont tear it you can reuse it. Take the other speaker out(if you got one) thats in the bottom front corner. The power window motor is toward the front of the door about 3/4 of the way up. Its held in with 3 rivets you may have to drill through the inside of the door to get them out(I did). After those are out the motor will pull out, the gear should hold it in place. Install new one and use the 3 screws/bolts that were supplied with it or go to the local hardware and buy some. After that just go backwards through these steps. Putting the door panel back on can be a PITA, just dont force it to much the plastic tabs will break off.

Re: driver window motor went out .HELP...... that's the first time I've heard about someone fixing the driver's side motor. My passenger one just went out a few weeks back, replacement motor costs about 150-160 depending on where you get it. Only 40-50 bucks in labor if they cut 3 holes to access the motor, otherwise the entire door usually has to be taken apart, and the 240-250 cost enters!
