Default preventive maintenance

So I just finished pulling my dash pad and dash to wrap in leather.... I noticed it opened up the car drastically. My question is should there be anything i should go ahead and change while the dash is out and there is plenty of room to work. Everything works as of now but im almost sure all the parts like heater core and blower motor are 10 years old, I'm trying to stick to the "If it ain't broke don't fix it" but i would rather do it with ease now that to be a pain later. Any suggestions would be great, thanks

.......well, does anyone know how to remove the door chime for when you have the key in the ignition and have the doors open......I was reading a post on another site and a guy thought he had it figured out by disabling the pin switch on the door, but that caused more issues than fixed, any help would be great

The door chime will be a bit of work.

That piece of **** drove me insane. I pulled the BCM and desoldered the chime it self from the mother board.

Well worth the time.

Sorry, bro no pic. I was very pissed at the time and forgot to take any shots.

Here is a good break down of what you need to do though.

Remove the BCM from the car.
Open the BCM casing, be carefull this thing does not feel too sturdy.
On the mother board you will see a black round speaker, that is what you are removing.
You could just cut it of, but I decided to desolder it instead so I can install it in again if I ever wanted to.
To desolder it, run a very hot soldering Iron tip over the connectors untill the solder becomes liquid.

This really was not that hard to do.

Here is a pic of the speaker.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Yup, that be the BCM.

I hated that sound so much. I thought about replacing with something else, like one of those 80's things that say ****.

Funny. . . . .

I remember my friend had a 83 Nissan Z, it would say all kinds of stupid ****. Then you could hear the tape rewind in the rear wheel well.
