Default Squeal from hell

Ive had this mystery noise for a while, and have replaced the belt, tensioner, water pump, tstat. After I swapped out the tensioner yesterday (first one was defective) i have this insane squealing noise. Sounds like its coming from the crank pulley. Im about to lose my mind with all these mystery noises, someone please give me some advice, thanks.

try the ac/ belt. ls1's have two belts/ it's a really skinny one that goes only on the ac pully and crank pully.

Thanks, I know theres another belt but im pretty sure its not any of those.

I think ive narrowed it down to the crank balancer, and its either the pulley or the bolt. Another member on here was gonna help me take a look at it tomorrow, im really hoping its just the bolt.

Mines got a squeal at the a/c compressor. It sounds like its at the crank but that's what mine is. You may want to remove the A/C belt and see if it still makes the noise.

A crank pulley will not cause noise. It has no bearings, it is attached to your crankshaft. (well I guess you can consider crankshaft bearings; bearings )If it is the crank making noise you have much bigger problems then belt or pulley noise.

Well not entirely true. If the ribs on the pulley get messed up they can cause squealing especially with certain fluids. Had it happen on the water pump pulley on my car and a few others at work.

Or maybe the harmanic balancer is out of wack. It could cause noise from the belts.

The pulley's come with nearly no grease in them. I think there are 4. Take them all off and regrease. It might take maybe an hour. There is a write up on hear about regreasing.

Regreasing, what?

They are all sealed bearings.

Ended up just being the ac belt. That noise was really loud for something so simple, but the belt did look really beat up. I do have a weird noise coming from the ac vents when the ac is turned on now, sounds almost like a "fluttering", cant really describe it. But the that loud squeal is gone, so im happy. Thanks guys

Do a search and read the info about re-greasing them.
