Default Hole in floorpan

Damage is from previous owner. Looks like they tried to jack the car up on the floorpan under the driverside seat. Hole is about 10" long and the metal can be hammered back together. Should I just weld this up, or should I go another route?

I would weld it up the best you can then grind the welds flat and get a piece of 1/8'' thich, 2'' wide strap and weld it over all the 10'' of damage. Just be carefull not to weld to much a once so you dont melt the carpet.

I'd do all that but I'd remove the seat and carpet there before you do it. It's pretty thin metal and it'll get really hot really quick.
