Default Heater problems on a 95 Z28

I have been watching another thread but so far haven't found the answer.

My daughters car which is a 95 Z28 LT1 just stopped blowing hot air, fans are working fine.
Thought maybe that maybe that the t-stat was messed up so I bought a new one but before I could put it in lastnight I found a small leak on the heater hose.
Could this have anything to do with the heater not working??

Possibly, it could have an Air Pocket in the Heater Core..

That or the core is completely clogged up, which was the case on mine. I hated pulling that damn thing out

with the car hot, feel the heater hoses going in and coming out of the heater core. if the return is cool, clogged core. make sure the a/c is off

Sweet,
I have let her drive the car out to my shop which is a 20 minute drive from town and I pop the hood when she rolls into the shop to feel the heater hoses, the top one feels like it isn't as hot as the bottom one and of course I burn the hell out of my knuckle from that damn exhaust cross over thingy

Chavez, good to see another okie

I was going to work on the thing lastnight but with all the ice and snow I figured hell no. It is like a sheet of grease on the roads.

A leak in the hose will cause the heat to stop pretty much. I had it happen in a 95 camaro v6.

did they feel hot to the touch though? like comparable to the upper rad hose? also, could you perform a leak check? best to make sure your not pissing it away. check the carpet area too to ensure the heater core itself isn't leaking inside the car.

Checked the floor inside the car, not wet so I don't think the core is leaking. When messing with it the other night the top heater hose wasn't as hot as the radiator hose and it was leaking just in front of the hose clamp, so I know that has to be fixed.
I will dive back into it either tonight or tomorrow night to see if I can fix it.

Chavez, I am up here in Ponca City.

you could have a clogged core and the antifreeze is just passing by through the tank and not circulating through the core itself. fix the leak first though. then go from there.
