Default Baffled Oil Pan??

I tried the 'search' function but not specific enough. Can anyone advise me if the stock LS1 engine on my '01 T/A has a baffled oil pan? The reason I am asking is for the possible use of a an oil removal system that fits a tube down the dipstick and pumps out the old oil. If the oil pan is baffled, then the tube will not fit all the way down and be able to drain the oil. If this system doesn't work then I'll just revert to the old drain plug oil removal. Thanks in advance!

I don't believe they are, but don't know 100%. There is the windage tray but don't think they are baffled though. You'll still have to get under there to get the oil filter off though. Could try converting to a drysump... might be easier.

I am pretty sure the LS1 has a HALF windage tray because of k member issues. the ssr and corvette should have a full windage tray.

the tray is louvered.

To be honest, the ls1 oiling system is ok but could improve. there is horsepower and durability to be had in dry sump and aftermarket wet sump systems assuming no clearance issues.

In the bottom of the Pans is a piece of metal that is bolted in to prevent the Oil from coming out when you put your Brakes on, I guess you could consider that Baffled.

Thank you very much! Any blockage would prevent getting down to the bottom of the oil pan where it is most important. Appreciate it.

I wouldn't necessarily think that it would prevent the Oil from getting into the bottom of the Pan..

I removed my Windage Tray and did the Drill Mod to the Lifter Trays, and I have had no problems.
