Default Car Won't Start

Okay, Here is the situation...
I've got a 2000 T/A w/A4 and last night I get in the car after driving over my girlfriends house... I get in and nothing... starter doesn't turn over and I've got NO lights in the dash, especially no SES lights... I went out and replaced the starter... Had to cause I broke the negative terminal on the old one while I was replacing the starter (DOH!) After installing the new starter and crossing my fingers I get the same thing... nothing! I am hearing a clicking over in the fuse block area... so I thought I might change out the relay for the IGN and and STARTER with the FAN#1 and FAN#2 relay... Nothing still! I've got no mods on this car and I cannot figure this out!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Oh yeah forgot to mention the battery is good... I've got power to put down the windows and hear the annoying door chime. So that is not the issue! Need some help here!

Check the main fuses in the under hood fuse box?
You have to have lights in the dash to run =PCM
But this thing doesn't even crank right?
Unclear , why did it need a starter?
See what work & what doesn't & check the fuses.
Also turn the headlights on & attempt to crank the motor , what did the lights do?

Make sure the battery terminal bolts are really tight, that has happened to me before and my car has done the same thing you are describing. Some things would work and some would'nt,the car wouldnt start, a wierd clicking noise etc...Im almost positive its the neg or pos battery terminals, make sure their tight and not corroded.

Ok, I just went out and tried the lights and attempted to start it...
I got nothing from the starter... no crank at all same noise as before... Lights didn't dim or anything...
Inside the gauges and SES lights didn't come on when I moved to on and then start...
When I turned the lights as above inside the dash did light up as normal for lumination, but none of the gauges moved and the SES lights didn't come on!
So, are you saying I have a bad PCM?

Oh and I did try the fuses... all of them are good... nothing is blown and the terminals on the battery are tight and since it's realtively new no corrosion...
It didn't need a starter exactly until I pulled the old one and accidently broke the neg terminal on the solenoid....
Nothing is working here... ARRGHHH!!!

Yeah, I pulled everyone of the fuses... everyone was good... I pulled all the relays and swapped them with the Fan relays as well just for s&g's... nothing I've done so far is doing it... I'm getting power but something is hosed here cause lights work and everything else works, but that dang starter...

No, neither the SES or the security light comes on...
Usually when I turn the key to on all the idiot lights come on and then eventually go off, but they don't even come on now!

I would change the battery just to make sure. Just because the lights work doesn't mean the battery is strong enough to start the car.

But why would a relatively new (4 months old) go bad? I'm not saying the battery isn't bad, cause I haven't had it checked but when I put the meter to it, it comes out fine...

Ok, I went back out and checked the fuses one more time... guess what? a piece of crap 10amp fuse for the gauges was blown!!!
So I go get another one and put it in... the car starts!!!! But as soon as I turn it off and try to turn it back on I blow the fuse!!! :eek
So I pull it out and put in a 25 amp fuse... this one hasn't blown yet after several restarts... now I'm wondering what would cause this fuse to blow???

Nope... nothing new.. one question though... do the daytime running light/turn signals tie into the gauge cluster? Cause it seems that I'm having problems with them... Anyone have a wiring diagram?

Ok, I went out and pulled the drivers side front turn signal... and was instantly had my hand covered in water. Bulb was bad, but the plug looked ok. I cleaned it out and put some dielectric grease in it prior to placing a new blub in the socket. Pulled the 25 amp fuse out, and replaced with 10 amp fuse that is supposed to be in there... Now the fuse doesn't blow and I've got turn signals, but no more day time running lights I've had both front sockets replaced and I personally soldered them in instead of crimp connections for better mechanical connection. They aren't bare I used the heat shrink, and I doubled checked the connection to make sure I didn't swap the wires with where they should be connected... Where does the dash gauges meet up with the front turn signals??? Or any other suggestions?
