Default headlight failure

My low beam headlights are being gay lately. I guess its my fault because i assumed when only the driverside went out it was a light, there went 25bucks. Well i put the new headlight in an it doesn't work, I looked at the wire inside both headlights an they where fine. Is this a common problem, could the wires running to the light be grounding out. I'm going to find my tester light light later. Why would only the driverside light go out, are both headlights on the same wire. Just any input at all would help alot as I'm clueless??

Both lights are on the same ground. Mine was on the Pass. side they all make a connection in the bundle and are unprotected besides the wire loom. Try jumping your ground wire to ground, if it comes on then you have a ground issue.
