Default Trip odometer keeps reseting

I know it's not that big of a deal but my trip odometer keeps resetting if I don't start the car everyday. Has anyone else had this problem? Where should I start?

Sounds like your battery is going out slowly?

My car does the same thing with a brand new battery. I dont know what it is, but gets irritating when I try to keep my oil change at every 3k

I have the same problem with my 99. a new battery helped for a little while but it always comes back. seems to be an issue with 99's more than anything else. my trip odometer resets and my gauges do a full sweep on start up too. Do yours?

Happened to me constantly with my 99 Trans Am...

Went away when I went with an Optima red top battery.

I had the exact same problem. Check the terminals on the battery to make sure they are plenty snug and the bolts aren't stipped out or anything like that. I replaced the cable that wouldn't tighten all the way and sure enough it solved it

Battery seems fine always starts up fine. I will check all the connections to see if anything is not right.

Thanks

It's a known issue in all 99s, there's a TSB for it. I experienced the whole gauge sweep and odo resetting nearly everyday during the summer, even after a new battery... but now that it has gotten colder, it doesn't do it at all for some reason. Whatever... I've decided to deal with it anyway, not worth the $200 to me to get it replaced at the dealer.
