Default Ignition Switch Burn

Has anybody had trouble with their ignition switch burning up. Ive had to replace mine at least three times and on top of that Ive had to fix the fusible link once. Is there a reason for this and if there is, can it be fixed?

Sounds like an electrical gremlin to me. Do you have any aftermarket stereo stuff installed? Anything else that may have added to the stress of that circuit?

Nothing really, the car has been stock for a long time but yes something is drawing to much amprage. Ignition wire draws somewhere around 27 amps is this normal.
