HVAC tank question
HVAC tank question I have completed a 99 V6 camaro to a stock ls1 swap. At first I didnt have any air going to my dash vents and relized that the line going to the vacuum tank was broke off. The wire goin to the back of the intake is good and the one going to the dash is in good shape. Well when I was trying to pull off the end of the line going to the vacuum tank the nipple broke off and now I cant get a rubber hose on it. I was wondering what is the purpose of the tank and before I spend 50 bucks on getting freon in it, will a/c work without the tank/cannister? When I plug the hole at the vacuum check valve air is restored. Please help

are u talking about the black plastic canister on the passenger side frame rail?
if thats what your talking about, no u dont need it. it just helps build up vacuum faster and the vents to change quicker
all will function without this black canister
