maf code. don't know whats up. i got my car tuned a few weeks ago and i thought he tuned out all the codes, but my SES light came on when i was on my way home. i got the MAF and the skip shift code. i had a spare maf sensor at the house so i cleaned it and put it on and cleared the codes, but they just came back on again. i'm guessing he just forgot to delete the skip shift code, but what else could be causing the MAF code to be thrown? i believe it was p0102.

See if the ENG SEN fuse is blown - the MAF, 02's, skip shift and reverse lockout are all on that circuit. If it's also harder to get the shifter over to reverse that's probably it.
i bet thats it! it's been hard to get out of reverse for months and i didn't see a fuse for the lockout solenoid so i just figured it was bad. i'll swap the fuse out and see if it fixes it.

My buddy had the same problem with his 98 TA recently, and after numerous fixes which he had thought fixed it, turns out one of the rear o2's was just sitting on top of his tranny, and it was causing that fuse to short out. He spent a week or two finding the issue, and is damn happy now!
In my old 6spd (which the same buddy I spoke of above ended up buying) after I did headers and exhaust, I had the same problem. My issue was the passenger side front o2 was hitting the header, and it was actually the middle of the harness that touched lightly while I'd be driving.
Hope you fix it! I'll get my buddy to chime in that had the same issue, he might have something else to add.

I had an issue with the drivers side 02 touching. I have hooker LT's on the car and the eng ses fuse would only blow with a hard launch from a dig. I found out the engine would torque just enough for the 02 to touch the frame. When I took the 02 out you could see where the bare wires were. I could not see it while the 02 was in. So if that fuse is blowing you have a wire grounding out somewhere. Good luck.
i checked the fuse and sure enough, it was blown. after i swapped it out, i cleared the codes and the SES light stayed off and my reverse lockout is fixed! thanks for the help, guys.
