Unhappy Another car won't start thread.

I woke up this morning to go to work and the car wouldn't start. When I would turn the key to start, all I would hear is clicking noise. After that, everything electrical in the car would shut off till I opened the car then everything would turn on again.

I tried jumping the car, the same thing happened. I pulled the battery out and took it Pep Boys and they said it was fine.

Is it the starter?

If the battery is fully charged still, the alternator and the bettery should be fine. Did you check the fuses inder the hood, there's a starter one.

How did your overheating issue turn out?

You were right about the T-stat, I replaced it and the car has been keeping cool ever since.. I apologize for not returning my thanks

As for the current issue now, I haven't checked any of the fuses. I don't know which one to look at.

The weird thing is after I cranked it, and everything shut off dead, I popped the hood and everything turned back on.

Sounds like some possible corrosion. It causes intermittent problems like that too. Are the wires all clean of corrosion? The ones attached to the starter too?

I found some corrosion a couple days ago on my damn stereo amplifier inside my car, that **** grows everywhere.

Check the starter fuse...its in one of those black boxes under the hood behind the drivers side headlight. They'll labeled.

Thanks guys, I pulled and checked all the fuses and they were all good.

I also checked the wires for any possible corrosion and found none, I attached it back to the battery nice and tight and the car started.

I hope that was it, but the car was acting perfectly normal the night before it wouldn't start.

If it happens again, look for corrosion on the wires that connect to the starter as well.

I've also had a battery a long time ago that had a terminal start to get loose in the battery. Where you attach it to the positive terminal, it started to spin inside there like it was stripped.
