Metal chunks stuck to oil plug!!!

Unhappy Metal chunks stuck to oil plug!!!
Hey guys,

I just changed my oil today for the second time since owning this car, and found these guys stuck to the oil plug...







Any ideas on what it could be? The car feels like it is running strong and I don't hear any knocks/other weird sounds.

could it be a side cap of one of your rockers? pull your valve covers and look at the sides of each of your rocker arms.

Make sure to get a long, bendable magnetic stick and put it into the oil pan drain hole and sweep the entire bottom of the oil pan for more ****.

Pull the valve covers and inspect your valvetrain. Its usually there.

I do not believe you do not feel that in the car. That looks like part of a piston skirt, looks like a cast part . were you running the dog **** of it prior to the discovery In any case i would drop the pan and pull the valve covers just for a piece of mind.

They are less than a millimeter thick. Probably about as thick as the average human fingernail...

Other than the occasional slippage from my worn clutch, it feels normal. I really don't beat on it too bad so I'm not sure what the deal is.

There was one case where I overevved a bit, I guess that may have done it.

I had pieces of spring seats break apart a long time ago, looks identical.

Or whatever the real name is for the round, washer looking things that sit under the springs on the heads in the round seats. They are about a millimeter thick, maybe less.

Do a compression check, pull the valve covers and maybe the oil pan. Are the pieces magnetic?

Yes, they were stuck to the little magnet on the oil plug.

Since they are magnetic, they are not pieces of the piston. . . . .

I really don't know. . . But, looks to me more valve train related.
