screw that have a local muffler shop delete your cat or dummie your cat.
that car will run better and sound better.... well at least it did on mine! it was about 50 bucks for me. cheap and easy.. took about 20 minutes.

You can purchase a Magnaflow Cat from eBay. They sell one rather cheap. Then take it to a shop and they SHOULD do it for around 50 bucks. They'll cut out the old one, weld then new one on and it should be good to go!
I used to own a 3.8L V6 Firebird. I went through a similar ordeal. Except my cat's honeycombs were damaged. Also, that bogged down feeling you get, I kinda got that too, it wouldn't go anywhere after punching it. What I usually had to do was just restart the car and it fixed that problem. But, I never found out the cause.
