Default Spark Plugs Problems

So I changed my spark plugs earlier this week (1/2 of them, drivers side, gapped to .035) and the car hasn't been driven since then. I am driving it today and sitting at a red light when the car starts to idle low (around 400 rpm) and stumbles. I hear a ticking/clicking/sparking sound (its hard to describe) coming from the front driver side of the car. Whenever I try to accelerate away from the light the car hesitates and then starts to accelerate. Anyone have any suggestions on what the hell is going on?

The first thing that comes to mind is damaged or loose spark plug wires. The other thing is preignition which obviously puts resistance on the RPM. This is since you gapped them at .035 and I've mostly seen .06 to .045 at the least being used. I'm not very knowledgeable on spark plugs, but I just want to suggest the possibility that the particular plugs you purchased may not have been designed to function at that small of a gap.

start it up and pop your hood. You will probably hear a loud clicking, you did not get a wire plugged back onto the spark plug or coil pack, they click down hard somewhat hard. you should feel/hear a click when you put it back on....you will hear and see sparks flying probably be careful though!

MAKE SURE YOU TURN OFF THE CAR BEFORE YOU PUT IT BACK ON!

.035 is not proper. You need .050-.055

Also, make sure that none of your pluig wires on touching the exhaust manifold/pipes. That will cause your symptoms too.

I still have a little bit of a tick coming from the motor, I can only hear it when the door is open. It doesn't cause the car to stumble terribly (i've checked that all the plug wires are on tight)

So i pulled off the wire today to see if one of the plus were cracked. I pulled easily on one of the wires and the wire came off easily. I looked down to see that the "internal" of the wire was still stuck on the top of the plug. Think the crappy/loose/broken connection between the wire and the clip was giving that sound.

So you have a broken sprak plug wire. You cannot fix that.

And yes, that will cause a pretty annoying "sound", if it was broken all this time.
