Idle question!!!

What else affects the idle of my car besides the IAC?? Sometimes it idles high other times it's low, and sometimes it bounces from maybe 600rpms to 1000rpm. Also when I slowing down to a stop sometimes the car will go dead. I initially thought this would be caused by the IAC, but after cleaning my old one, then purchasing a new one, the car does the same thing

!! Any suggestions??

Could be a vacuum, the TPS, or a sticky throttle mechanisms.

However, if it's auto and it sometimes stalls out when stopping, it could be the torque converter. Next time when coming to a stop and it seems like it's gonna stall, manually shift down with the car - 3 -2 - 1 - and see if it stays running.

PCV valve or check for a crack around the Grommet. I had a similar issue and it was a crack in the grommet letting in unmetered air.

Slowing down from a stop causes the car to die? You may need to check your tranny fluid. A low fluid level could cause this.

Based on those symptoms my first guess would be a vacuum leak. PCV lines are great for that. Check engine light on?

Check the EGR that goes into your throttle body.....1-2 small bolts, take the pipe out of the hole...there is an O-RING...if u still have the LS1/EGR..that may be the problem..get a new one...May be a VACUUM LEAK.
