Cranks sputters but no start

Lets see!
injector 1 is on the driver side. The coil pack connector is tied up to the same wiring.
I think its kinda hard to mix that up but either way I marked the coil harness 1-4 on each side. Switched them 4-1 and no sputter. Switched them back and got the sputter back.
I sent out the PCM to LS1 tune and sent him all the specs. My cam is a big one so that may be the problem.
William said he will try to get it as close as possible but i will need to finish the PCM on a dyno to get it perfect.
We will see what happens next week "As the world turns"

Harness?
So your saying that there is a difference between the right and left side coil pack harness?
The small harness that sits on top of the fuel rail?
Thats odd if these identical harnesses are different?!

Finally found out what was wrong.
After pulling the engine and checking the time between the cam and crank and all was fine.
Passenger spark plugs were dry. Drive psark plugs were wet.
Pulled off the fuel press regulator and it was stuck.
After drilling and removing the insides of the regulator I added a guaged regulator.
Put everything back together and the engine started.
Found that the driver side coils were backwards, 1 was 7 and 3 was 5.
Fixed all that and it runs better but....
Driver side exhaust has black and wet sutt while the passenger side is clean and gray.
Hmmm! I wonder if I burned a hole in one of the pistons.....

Looks like the engine is ok.
I just checked the compression and all are above 120psi.
Wonder why the driver side has alot of soot coming out of the exhaust while the passenger side is ok?

You stated earlier that you had the coils misplaced (1 was 7, 3 was 5). This would cause the coils to fire at the wrong times, never correctly burning the fuel in your DS cylinders.

Since I have relocated the coils I just ordered new wiring from http://www.currentperformance.com/Ac...iring_acc.html
Also ordered the module to adapt the v8 tach signal to a 6 cyl bmw tach.
