Clunk going over bumps
I am getting a clunk from the rear-end going over bumps. I don't feel it, I just hear it. It doesn't clunk when accelerating, breaking, or turning, just over speed humps, rough roads, etc. Is this something I should be worried about? At this point, it is just annoying.
The car is a 2000 Pontiac Firebird Formula A4, stock 2.73 rear with 104,000 miles.

take a look in the back and see what your bumpstops look like
you can also check the end links
i also have a clunking noise, and the only thing i can think of what is wrong with it now is bad shocks, i have checked everything else

The front bushings in your lower control arm are worn out. I had the same problem with me 97 Z28. It took me a while to find them but you should be able to move the lower control arm from side to side, maybe with a little force and you'll see where its rubbing.

Thanks a lot.
Is this something that needs to be taken care of ASAP, or is it OK to let it slide for a few days?
I just swapped the Kumho tires that were on my 1996 V6 firebird (same size, I checked and are fairly new) onto the Formula. And the same vibration that I had on the 96 is now back on the formula! It isn't a bad vibration, just annoying. I suspect one of those tires might be out-of-round. Is it possible that the vibration shook something loose?
