Here RIR means RIP, I'm not in good terms with my brain right now. Where it says RIR is where the rip in the hose is at, you can't see it in the pic because its on the top part of the hose.

Or, I've never heard of it tried but I don't see why it wouldn't work perfectly. Get a two ended brass fitting that fits into that size hose. Cut the rip out of the hose about 1 inch in both direction. So a 2 inch piece. Then slide each hose end over the brass fitting with clamps o neach end of the brass fitting. There's no way I can see it leaking from the pressure thats in the system. I would damn sure try this simple, possible fix, before I changed that headache of a line.
If not, buy the #10 hose from ebay.

Gonna pick one of these up tomorrow along with 4 clamps.

But who's to say it just won't blow another hole somewhere else in the line.

Thats friggin exactly the brass fitting I mean. Don't go ****** nuts tightening it down, you don't want to rip into the rubber by squeezing the **** out of it. Maybe find a type of clamp that is completely flat on the side that touches the rubber, then you can tighten the **** out of it.
I think its gonna work perfectly. I see no reason it won't.
I couldn't do this with mine, my leak was right at the metal coupler. I'd have to cut that metal couple off and slide the rubber hose over the metal line, then clamp it down. ****, that would work too.

Ok supposedly I repaired the line. First time I hooked a can up it started leaking on one side of the fitting, so I tightened the clamp and it stopped. So I let the can empty, and so far I guess it's holding, I'm not sure. One can is in and the compressor starts to click back on. I feel a little bit of a/c but not the way it was. How many cans does it need?

2 cans should do it. Don't put 3 total cans in though. Maybe a little bit from a 3rd can.
Damn man, it'll be very cool if that holds up. That would be a great write-up fix for people. Changing those lines suck ***.
BTW....I was a North Ft. Myers "Red Knight" back in the day. Lived in WaterWay Estates off Orange Grove Blvd.

Here's what I concocted. Ignore the green ****, that was from when the clamp was loose, I need to clean that **** up. But 4 hours later it's still above 25 so I'm gonna put a can in soon.

You shouldn't start your car with the AC on. Start the car and then turn the ****. It prevents added wear on the compressor.
How did you recharge it? If you used one of those can things with the gauge on it they aren't that accurate. The ones that come with PAG oil in them too can overfill the compressor causing the seals to become damaged and leak.
The best way to do it is with a machine that will pull a vacuum and refill the system to the right amount.

Well, I put another can in, and now the bitch is cold as hell. So far it's still holding. I bought a gauge separately. So now I have 2 full cans in.
