Take the door panel off, on the top you'll see this bracket. One in front one in the back.
All you need is a phillips screwdriver and a 10mm wrench, or ratchet and socket.

The one on the bottom is broken (obviously)

So, I'm hoping to get my front windows tinted soon, and am trying to stop this happening to mine.
I take it there are two of these felt guide brackets on each window for the front, ie I need 4 in total to replace all of them?

And are they all the same part number, 10257988 ?
So I need 4 x 10257988 ?

Thanks for the help,

There are two per door, they are the same. I'm not sure what the part number is.

Thanks for the prompt reply, someone quoted the part number in one of the posts above, so I'm assuming that's right.
Thanks again

Glass is naturally has a slight green tint to it.

The smoke added is what we know as tint, it takes the green look away, it blocks sunlight, it reduces glare, it reduces load on the ac.
Umm no guy, while yes glass is not perfectly clear the green tint in things we use everyday is put there for a reason. Glass coke bottles are tinted green to help block light as it will harm and change the taste of the pop inside. Glass table tops that are tinted green for looks and safety so they are easier to see. And if you think that the green glass in cars is just made that way becuase it is natural think again. Back in the day with the advent of A/C most cars equipped with it had green tint while the ones without were clear. If you think I am wrong try ordering glass for a an old car or truck you are restoring. You will find in most cases you can order clear or 3% green tint for A/C.

Already acknowledged earlier! LOL

I'd like to find some QUALITY door panel removal tools that wont mar the paint. Anyone find a decent tool that satisfies the job? I've seen tools that are made out of metal only. I'd like to get this lil project started right away.

Oh yeah, once we get the new felt guides in our hands, any modifications to it so it wont EVER happen again? I'm curious now.

Like I said already. To change these you need a phillips screw driver (technically two, a #2, and a #3) and a 10mm wrench or socket/ratchet, or gear wrench.

Quick explaination: Roll the window all the way down, Take the switch panel off with the #2, Take the handle screws out with the #3, Take the triangle thing off by the mirror, Lift up on the panel to remove it.

You do not and cannot use any special tool for this, it's not necessary.

Change the felt things. Plug the switch in temporary to roll the window up and down and adjust the felt things.

To put the door panel back on, look at how it's held in place. You'll see why it requires no tools. It's held on by hooks, and held down by the handle screws.
Roll the window down.
Push it against the door, and push it down.
Then put the other stuff back on.

Stop closing the door by pushing the window. Thats about all you can do.

What about the scratching of the glass on the outerside? Is tint installed on the inner side of the window?
