I am assuming it will be similar to TA's and you will need to either go from underneath the car or through the engine to get to it, if you can find a clear way to it, it will just pop out.
Don't try and force the marker plate off

One small alan screw, then the thing should fall off in your hand. Change the bulb and slide the one end back into place and put the screw back.

One minute job. If you're slow

How small is the allen screw?
I'm trying to change my blinker bulb without getting under the car.
But I could not seem to get that one screw holding the blinker assembly out.
You're sure you need an allen wrench and not just a socket?

Any info would be very helpful.
Thanks.

You should be able to change out the bulb without removing the assembly by going underneath. There is a plastic flap underneath the car to get to the blinker assembly, unscrew the bolt holding the flap, pull it down and reach for the bulb. Twist the bulb and it should come right out. It's a lot easier than going through the top in my opinion.

You don't need to remove the assembly. Just grab the socket, squeeze the little latch, and rotate counter-clockwise. then it pops out. I grab mine from the top, a bit of a squeeze getting my hand in there. Not sure if there is any more or less room in the 97 or not.

The side marker light change does not involve any getting under the car. I think some of the guys above are thinking of changing the actual turn signal bulb, but the side marker lights will affect the turn signal too.

You should have one allen head or torx screw to take out. Then pull the light out from the end of the light that the screw was in. The light has a tab on the other end that fits in a slot. So just gently pull the light out from the end that the screw was in and the tab on the other end will follow. The screw is on the front end of the front side lights and on the rear of the rear lights.

After the light comes out twist the light bulb socket and remove the socket. The light just pulls out and you plug the new bulb in. Cheap bulb, maybe a dollar, I keep a couple in the glove compartment.

Pretty simple.

On the side marker lights, NOT the turn signals, the lights on the side of the car in the fenders. They should be held in with one screw. Mine is about an 1/8 Torx head screw.

Well, the side marker lights are actually on the side of the bumper/facia. 1 & 1/2 inches wide, 5 inches long in front and 7 inches long in the rear on my car. I think those are the lights we are talking about.

Original poster said ....SIDE MARKERS.

Like I said in post #2......one little tiny alan screw (or maybe call it a torx screw) and the plastic red (side rear quarter panels) or orange (side front fenders) lenses fall off in your hand.

No getting under the car. You walk up, kneel down, unscrew it, change the bulb, put the lens back on and screw it back in.

1 minute, you're done.

You are right, as you were the first time. I think Killagt (OP) had a little terminology 'fail'. However, we did seem to help Matt.
